Nollywood actress and producer Allwell Ademola has reportedly died at the age of 43, sending shockwaves across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Sources within the film community disclosed that Ademola passed away on Saturday after allegedly suffering a heart attack at her residence. She was said to have been rushed to a hospital, where she was later confirmed dead. Official details surrounding her death are yet to be fully released.
The news has triggered an outpouring of grief from colleagues, fans, and industry stakeholders on social media. Veteran actress Faithia Williams expressed her sorrow on Instagram, describing the loss as deeply painful. Actress Mide Martins also mourned her passing, calling it a “black Saturday” and praying for divine mercy. Actor Damola Olatunji shared a solemn post reflecting on the fleeting nature of life.
However, some colleagues expressed disbelief over the reports. Actress Bidemi Kosoko publicly rejected the news, urging Ademola to respond to messages and praying that the reports were untrue.
Allwell Ademola was a versatile and accomplished figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She was an actress, filmmaker, director, singer, and scriptwriter, best known for her impactful roles in the Yoruba film sector. Her notable film credits include You or I (2013), Omo Emi (2017), and Aye Keji.
Born on August 9, 1983, in Lagos State, Ademola hailed from a distinguished royal family in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She was the granddaughter of Justice Adetokunbo Ademola, Nigeria’s first Chief Justice.
Her journey in entertainment began at an early age, appearing as a child actor on NTA’s Animal Games programme in 1986. She formally joined Nollywood in 1992 and steadily built a respected career marked by dedication and versatility.
Beyond acting, Ademola was also a talented musician. She founded her music group, Allwell and Company, in 2002, released an album in 2006, and officially inaugurated the band in 2010.
