At least 21 people have been killed in fresh attacks by suspected Boko Haram fighters in parts of Borgu and Agwara Local Government Areas of Niger State.
According to security analyst Comrade Zakari Y. Adamu Kontogora, the assailants moved from village to village late on Thursday night, shooting residents and setting homes ablaze.
Sources within the security agencies told reporters that Konkoso community bore the brunt of the assault, with confirmed fatalities reaching 21.
Other nearby villages, including Pissa, Zango, and Tungan Maƙeri, were also reportedly targeted, with houses and shops torched and several residents killed.
The attackers were said to still be operating in the area at the time of filing this report, spreading fear and panic among locals.
Security personnel are said to have been deployed to contain the situation.
