An Ondo State Magistrate Court in Akure has directed the arrest and detention of Oba Adewale Sunday Boboye for alleged contempt of court in a land dispute case.
Court documents show that Boboye is accused of unlawfully entering a parcel of land belonging to Olrof Nigeria Ltd along Igoba/Akure Road, Igoba, and damaging company property. The incident is captured under Charge No: MAK/AMC/486/2025.
The suspect was initially summoned to appear in court but reportedly failed to honour the order. He was invited again on the previous Friday but did not show up.
At the last sitting, I.O. Osobu appeared for the prosecution, while A.R. Omidougha represented the defendant. Counsel for the nominal complainant, Kehinde Aladedutire, was also present.
Senior Magistrate D. S. Sekoni, citing Section 118 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Ondo State, ordered the suspect’s immediate arrest.
Boboye is now in custody at Nigeria Police Force Zone 17. Sources said he had previously been convicted of a similar offence.
The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2026, for his formal arraignment.
