A Nigerian businessman and social media personality, Isaac Fayose, has wagered N10 million that President Bola Tinubu will not secure 20 per cent of votes cast in the South East in the 2027 general elections.
Fayose made the claim in a Facebook post, while reacting to the recent outing of the City Boys Movement in Imo State.
The City Boys Movement is a campaign organisation established by Seyi Tinubu, son of the president, to mobilise grassroots support ahead of the 2027 polls.
Members of the group had stormed Owerri earlier in the week in what was billed as a major political outreach, drawing criticism after the event recorded low turnout despite the presence of popular socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, and other celebrities.
Fayose, reacting to the development, said unless the election was rigged, the president stood no chance of reaching the 20 per cent threshold in the region.
He wrote, “The City Boys Movement outing in Owerri, Imo State yesterday was a show of shame. Security operatives wey dey there pass the crowd. I am ready to bet any of them with 10 million naira. President Tinubu won’t get 20% of the total vote cast come 2027.”
The outing has since sparked debate on social media over the president’s chances in the South East, a region that has historically shown resistance to his political ambitions.
