The Lagos State Government has brought one Olusola Shedrach before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over allegations bordering on the forceful takeover and destruction of property belonging to Harvesters Church along the Gbagada–Oworonshoki Expressway.
Shedrach was arraigned on Tuesday before Justice Hakeem Oshodi on a three-count charge that included forceful entry, malicious damage, and conduct capable of provoking a breach of public peace.
At the hearing, the state counsel, Olufunmilayo Aluko, informed the court that the prosecution was ready to proceed and urged that the charges be read to the defendant for his plea.
The court granted the request, after which the charges were read and the defendant pleaded not guilty to all counts.
The prosecution alleged that Shedrach unlawfully took over the church premises and damaged property within the facility, an action said to have the potential to disrupt public order.
Aluko also told the court that the alleged offences were in violation of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law, 2016, as well as sections of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr O. Odueso, then applied for an adjournment to enable the defence file and argue a bail application.
The prosecution did not oppose the application.
Justice Oshodi subsequently adjourned the matter to April 22, 2026, for hearing of the bail application, while June 17, 2026, was fixed for commencement of trial.
