Ajulo to speak at Hague Justice Conference

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Dr Olukayode Abraham Ajulo (SAN), has been selected to serve as a panellist at the 2026 Justice Matters Conference slated for The Hague, Netherlands.

The conference, organised by the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law, is scheduled to hold from May 6 to 8, with its main plenary billed for May 7 at the Peace Palace.

A statement on Sunday by the Director of Information and Media in the Ondo State Ministry of Justice, Olaoluwa Meshack, said the event would attract global leaders, policymakers, jurists and investors to discuss strategies for strengthening people-centred justice systems.

According to the statement, deliberations at the conference will focus on positioning justice as a key driver of stability, conflict prevention, peacebuilding and sustainable development.

Ajulo is expected to present perspectives from Nigeria’s justice sector reforms, with emphasis on access to justice, the rule of law and innovative approaches suited to African contexts.

Speaking on his selection, the Attorney General described the invitation as a privilege, noting that justice remains fundamental to democratic governance and societal advancement.

“I am honoured to be part of this global conversation on people-centred justice. Justice remains the bedrock of stability, prosperity and democratic governance,” he said.

“I look forward to sharing practical experiences from Ondo State and Nigeria, while also learning from other jurisdictions on how innovation and inclusive systems can improve access to justice.”

Ajulo is expected to be in The Hague from May 5 to 9, where he will engage with international stakeholders and development partners on justice sector reforms.

The statement added that his participation underscores Ondo State’s commitment to justice sector transformation and reinforces Nigeria’s voice in global discourse on the rule of law and institutional development.
