Hit-and-run leaves two dead in Akure

Two people reportedly lost their lives in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday night, March 4, 2026, along Oda Road, near Bovas Filling Station.

The crash involved a Toyota car and a commercial motorcycle, with eyewitnesses describing the impact as severe.

An unnamed witness said the motorcycle riders were killed instantly after the collision. “The Toyota rammed into the bike with tremendous force, and the victims did not survive,” the witness stated.

It was reported that the driver of the Toyota fled the scene immediately, and the vehicle’s registration number remains unknown, complicating efforts to trace the suspect.

As of reporting time, security and traffic officials had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Authorities were on site clearing the wreckage and investigating the circumstances of the crash, while efforts to apprehend the fleeing driver were ongoing.
