Residents of Ibadan were thrown into panic after suspected kidnappers abducted a woman, Adetutu Aderibigbe, outside her residence in a daring evening attack.
The incident occurred on Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. at the Bolumole area, off Ring Road, where four armed men reportedly lay in wait and struck as the victim attempted to enter her compound.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers, who disguised their identities with masks, overpowered the woman and bundled her into a black Lexus SUV without registration plates before speeding off.
The swift operation left onlookers stunned, with no immediate intervention as the assailants fled the scene.
As of the time of filing this report on Friday, the victim’s location remained unknown, heightening anxiety among her relatives and residents in the area.
Confirming the development, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said preliminary investigations traced the incident to April 8, 2026, at about 1800 hours.
He disclosed that the abductors struck at the entrance of the victim’s home, adding that a family member present during the attack was left unharmed.
The police spokesman assured that efforts were ongoing to locate the kidnappers and secure the safe return of the victim.
The abduction has renewed concerns over security in parts of Ibadan, with residents urging authorities to step up surveillance and preventive measures against the growing threat of kidnapping.
