2027: Presidency’s Criticism of Jonathan Exposes APC’s Fear of PDP — Zamfara PDP

The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Presidency of targeting former President Goodluck Jonathan to divert public attention from what it described as the failures of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released in Gusau, the state PDP Chairman, Hon. Jamilu Jibo Magayaki, said the Presidency’s recent attacks on Jonathan revealed growing anxiety within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 general elections approach.

Magayaki argued that Nigerians still remember Jonathan’s era for stability, respect for democracy, and relative economic growth, contrasting it with the current climate of hardship.

“If Jonathan’s record was truly ‘disastrous’ as they claim, why does the mere hint of his possible return in 2027 frighten the APC?” he asked.

He further described the Tinubu administration as presiding over worsening insecurity, hunger, inflation, and a failing economy, despite its repeated claims of “giant strides.”

“The fact that after barely two years in office, Tinubu and his handlers must keep invoking Jonathan’s name to cover their failures shows clearly that their time in Aso Rock is fast running out,” Magayaki said.

He expressed confidence that Nigerians would reject the APC in the next election and restore the PDP to power.

“Come 2027, the era of deceit, propaganda, and hunger under the APC will end. Nigerians are wiser now and are waiting to rescue this nation from bad governance,” he added.
