BREAKING: 14-Year-Old Ogun Boy Dies After Being Teased For Giving A Girl A Gift

A community in the Onipaanu area of Ogun State has been thrown into mourning after the sudden death of a 14-year-old boy identified as Pelumi.

According to information gathered by SaharaReporters, the tragedy happened shortly after Pelumi gave a girl in his neighbourhood a small gift along with a note.

Rukayyat, the mother of the girl who received the gift, explained that Pelumi sent someone to deliver it to her daughter, Adijat, on Wednesday evening. When people nearby realised he was the sender, they teased him jokingly about giving a gift to a girl at his age.

She said the remarks were lighthearted, and no one expected the situation to escalate.

Later that evening, residents received news that Pelumi had passed away. Many community members were shocked, especially after hearing that he had reportedly feared his mother’s reaction if she found out about the gift and letter.

The incident has left families and neighbours deeply shaken, highlighting the pressure young people sometimes feel over normal adolescent behaviour.
