The Ondo State Police Command has thwarted an attempted kidnapping and rescued two persons in Ose Local Government Area of the state.
The command said the incident occurred on Thursday evening along the Idogun–Imeri corridor during a social gathering.
According to the police, suspected kidnappers stormed the venue but were quickly confronted after a distress alert was received.
Security operatives were immediately deployed to the scene, where they engaged the attackers and disrupted the operation.
The police confirmed that two victims were freed from the assailants and rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, reiterated the command’s determination to rid the state of criminal elements.
“We will not relent in our efforts to ensure all those behind this act are apprehended and brought to justice,” he stated.
He praised the swift intervention of officers and noted that security had been reinforced in the area to forestall further threats.
The command also appealed to residents to stay alert and continue to provide timely and useful information to support ongoing operations.
