The Ondo State Police Command has stepped up security deployment across the state for the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
The police said the measure was in line with a nationwide directive issued by the Olatunji Rilwan Disu, calling for improved security coverage at examination venues.
According to the statement, operatives have been positioned at all centres conducting the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Computer-Based Test in the state.
“Security personnel and necessary assets have been mobilised to all JAMB CBT centres to ensure the examination is conducted without disruption,” the statement read.
It noted that officers have been assigned responsibilities including crowd control, access monitoring, traffic coordination, and rapid intervention when necessary.
“The deployment is designed to protect candidates, officials, and facilities, while maintaining calm and order throughout the examination period,” it added.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, assured residents of the command’s readiness and urged compliance with all security guidelines.
“Candidates are expected to be orderly and cooperate with officers, while parents and guardians should avoid gathering unnecessarily at the centres,” the statement said.
The command further urged members of the public to remain watchful and report any unusual activity, reiterating its resolve to ensure a safe environment for all.
