Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful despite ongoing security challenges across parts of the country, assuring citizens that the government is working to restore peace and stability.
Speaking during a women’s gathering at the Ekitikete Pavilion in Ado Ekiti on May 30, 2026, the First Lady said the Federal Government, security agencies, and international partners were collaborating to tackle insecurity and protect lives and property.
According to a statement from her office, Mrs. Tinubu expressed confidence that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making every effort to address the country’s security concerns.
She urged Nigerians, particularly women, to remain hopeful, supportive, and prayerful, stressing that the nation would overcome its current challenges.
The First Lady described Nigeria as a blessed nation with enormous potential, adding that the present difficulties would eventually give way to a more secure and prosperous future.
Her remarks come amid renewed concerns over attacks and kidnappings in several parts of the country, including recent incidents in Oyo, Benue, and Borno states.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Tinubu announced a N100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant for 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti State to help strengthen their businesses and improve household incomes.
She also appealed to residents of the state to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the forthcoming governorship election, praising his administration’s achievements and commitment to development.
The First Lady thanked the people of Ekiti for their support and encouraged them to continue backing initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of citizens and promoting economic growth.
