A medical ethics controversy unfolded on Friday after Serenity Royale Hospital, Abuja, formally distanced itself from a document circulating on social media, purported to be a “mid-term home detox report” on Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. The hospital described the document as fake, unauthorised, and inconsistent with its confidentiality standards.
The medical facility emphasized that the publication did not originate from its system and warned the public against relying on such material, which it noted constituted a breach of privacy and professional ethics.
In its official statement, the hospital stressed:
“The publication and circulation of the said post containing classified information did not emanate from us. We remain committed to high-standard medical practice and strict confidentiality.”
Sowore Responds, Alleges Coordinated Smear Campaign
Following the hospital’s disclaimer, activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore accused Senator Chinedu “Ned” Nwoko of orchestrating the fabricated report in what he described as a larger scheme to malign Regina Daniels and divert attention from long-standing controversies surrounding their marriage.
Sowore, speaking through his verified channels, argued that the hospital’s statement validated earlier warnings he issued about the circulation of forged documents.
“The so-called detox report is fake and manufactured. The disclaimer has exposed the desperation behind the attempt to mislead the public,” he said.
Sowore further claimed that the alleged fabrications were triggered by the recent release of Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuele Ojeogwu (Sammy West), suggesting that the senator’s actions were influenced by concerns about potential legal exposure both in Nigeria and abroad.
Legal and Ethical Questions Emerge
While the allegations made by Sowore remain unproven and subject to investigation, the situation raises broader questions central to medical ethics, privacy protection, and abuse of political influence, including:

“This matter must be investigated thoroughly. Political influence cannot be a shield against accountability,” he said.
