The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has made significant progress in its efforts to combat violent crime, successfully apprehending three notorious armed robbery suspects linked to the murder of Barrister Chigbo Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix.
The arrests were made under clear directives from the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, PSC, aimed at swiftly identifying and bringing to justice all individuals connected to this heinous crime and similar offenses within the territory.
Between January 5 and 10, 2026, operatives from the Command’s Scorpion Squad, under the leadership of ACP Victor Ogbeide Godfrey, utilized reconstructive digital intelligence to track the victim’s mobile phone. This led to follow-up operations in the Dei-Dei, Dakwa, and Dan-Tata communities of the Kubwa Area.
The suspects taken into custody include:
1. Saifullahi Yusuf (22 years) – a resident of Dan-Tata Community, Dei-Dei, from Kaduna State
2. Ishau Yusuf (24 years) – also a resident of Dan-Tata Community, Dei-Dei, from Kaduna State
3. Minka’ilu Jibril, known as Dan-Hajia – from Kaduna State
It is essential to highlight that Saifullahi and Ishau Yusuf are biological brothers. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are affiliated with a “one-chance” armed robbery syndicate that has been operating intermittently in the FCT for several years, particularly during festive periods.
Further inquiries revealed that on January 5, 2026, at around 5:50 p.m., Barr. Princess Chigbo unknowingly entered their black Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle along the Kubwa Expressway. Following her entry, the suspects wound up the tinted windows and threatened her with weapons to compel her to pay a ransom for her release. When she allegedly resisted, she was physically assaulted and pushed out of the moving vehicle, leading to her tragic death.
The suspects confessed to having taken the victim’s Android mobile phone, which they later sold in Dei-Dei for a total of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (₦120,000). The distribution of the proceeds was as follows:

<span;><span;>- Saifullahi Yusuf received ₦15,000
<span;><span;>- Ishau Yusuf and another suspect, currently at large, named Musa, shared the remaining amount.
During the suspects’ arrest, law enforcement recovered several items believed to be used in their criminal activities, including:

<span;><span;>- Two dagger knives
<span;><span;>- Two knives
<span;><span;>- One long chain for restraining victims
<span;><span;>- One plier
As investigations continue, efforts are being intensified to locate the remaining suspect and explore additional criminal networks associated with this syndicate.
