An ambulance was captured in a viral video allegedly colliding with an individual during the 11th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon held in Lagos on Saturday.
The footage, which has been widely shared on X, showed a group of runners progressing along a major road when an ambulance approached from the rear and appeared to make contact with a person on the route.
The video was posted by a user identified as #Mrolaoluwa, who voiced concern about the welfare of the individual involved.
“I hope the guy the ambulance just hit at the Lagos City Marathon is safe,” the user wrote.
As of press time, neither the event organisers nor relevant authorities had released an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Details regarding the identity of the victim and the severity of any injuries sustained were not immediately available.
It also remained uncertain whether the person affected was a competitor in the race or a bystander.
The annual race, which draws elite and amateur runners alike, commenced earlier in the day and covered major routes across Lagos.
