The Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Femi Fani-Kayode, has declared that a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, will crawl back into obscurity once President Bola Tinubu secures victory in the 2027 general election.
Fani-Kayode, who described Momodu’s glory days as being firmly behind him, fired back at the ADC chieftain after Momodu labelled him and activist Reno Omokri as “perpetual agents of perfidy” lacking credibility.
In a post on X, Fani-Kayode said he had attempted to be measured in an earlier article about Momodu, expressing surprise at how deeply it had stung the opposition figure.
He said he offered no apology for his remarks.
He described Momodu as “completely unhinged,” arguing that the latter’s response was driven more by raw emotion than by reason.
He added that Momodu appeared to be fighting a lost cause and had become a shadow of his former self.
Fani-Kayode further taunted Momodu, suggesting that after the 2027 election, the ADC chieftain might return to photographing prominent political figures such as former Governor Nyesom Wike and the Adeleke family for a living.
On Momodu’s attempt to use old video clips in which Fani-Kayode had criticised President Tinubu, the ambassador dismissed the tactic, noting that those statements were made over a decade ago when he was serving as head of the media arm of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign organisation and was then in the opposition.
He maintained that recycling such old material would do nothing to help Momodu escape what he characterised as the consequences of the ADC chieftain’s current political positioning, and did not diminish his assertion that Momodu was wrong to describe Tinubu as a dictator.
