The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the commencement of the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for party members seeking to contest various leadership positions ahead of its forthcoming congresses and national convention.
The announcement was contained in a notice signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, and shared on social media.
According to the notice, interested members are invited to obtain the relevant forms to contest positions at the ward, local government, state, and national levels of the party.
Cost of Nomination Forms
At the ward level, the Expression of Interest Form costs ₦2,000, while nomination fees are set at ₦10,000 for Ward Chairman, ₦5,000 for Ward Secretary, and ₦3,000 for other ward officers.
For local government positions, nomination forms cost ₦40,000 for LGA Chairman, ₦30,000 for LGA Secretary, and ₦10,000 for other officers.
At the state level, the forms are priced significantly higher, with State Chairman forms costing ₦500,000, State Secretary ₦300,000, and ₦50,000 for other state officers.
For the National Convention, nomination fees are fixed at ₦10,000 per delegate, with each local government area required to send one delegate.
Nomination Requirements
The party also outlined nomination requirements for aspirants seeking elective positions within the party structure.
Ward Chairman aspirants must secure 10 nominators, while other ward officers require five nominators each.
At the local government level, chairman aspirants must obtain 20 nominators across the LGA, while other officers require 10 nominators.
For state-level contests, aspirants for the position of State Chairman must secure 50 nominators from across the state, with at least one nominator from each local government area.
Other state-level officers are required to have 20 nominators each.
The party further stated that each nominator must pay a non-refundable fee of ₦50.
Timeline for Congresses
The sale and submission of forms will close on March 27, 2026, while screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place between March 30 and March 31, 2026.
According to the timetable released by the party, Polling Unit and Ward Congresses will hold on April 7, followed by Local Government Congresses on April 9, and State Congresses on April 11.
The process will culminate in the party’s National Convention scheduled for April 14, 2026.
