The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has debunked a widely circulated result slip claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The result, which trended on X, alleged that a female candidate recorded near-perfect scores across four subjects.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, described the document as fabricated and urged the public to disregard it.
He explained that the board does not issue printable result slips for circulation, stressing that UTME results are strictly accessible through official channels on a view-only basis.
Benjamin noted that the viral document was generated using a fake template, adding that its format alone raised clear doubts about its authenticity.
He further pointed out discrepancies in the registration number displayed on the slip, stating that it does not conform to the board’s system-generated format.
According to him, several inconsistencies in the document indicate that it is fraudulent and should not be taken as genuine.
The board advised candidates and the general public to rely solely on official platforms for verification of results, warning against the spread of misleading information.
JAMB reiterated that all UTME results remain view-only and cautioned against sharing or relying on unverified documents circulating online.
