The Ondo State APC Woman Leader, Erelu Okin Princess Iji Ayeola, has dismissed reports claiming she endorsed Chief Dele Omosehin for the House of Representatives, describing the claim as false and misleading.
In a clarification issued on Thursday, Ayeola said no endorsement of any aspirant took place during a recent gathering in Abuja, contrary to reports circulating on social media.
She explained that the event in question was the Unity Match Programme organised by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, which brought together women leaders across the country to promote national unity and inclusion.
According to her, the gathering was not political and had no campaign or endorsement agenda.
Ayeola noted that Chief Dele Omosehin, being an indigene of Ondo State and a party stakeholder, was only exchanged greetings with during the event, stressing that such courtesy interactions should not be misrepresented as political support.
She further reaffirmed her loyalty to the APC structure in Ondo State, stating that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains the leader of the party in the state, while the State Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, oversees its official administration and political coordination.
The Woman Leader urged members of the public to disregard what she called “misleading narratives” aimed at causing unnecessary tension within the party, adding that she remains committed to unity, peace, and stability in the APC.
She emphasized that any endorsement process within the party must follow proper constitutional and collective procedures, not individual actions or interpretations.
