Senator Siyako Anthony Yaro, who represents Gombe South Senatorial District, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after failing to secure the APC senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement released on Saturday, Yaro said his decision came after consultations with political allies, community leaders, and supporters across the district.
The lawmaker described the PDP as the political platform that first supported the aspirations of the people of Gombe South and gave him the opportunity to pursue development projects for the district.
According to him, the move should not be seen as political inconsistency or desperation, but as a decision driven by responsibility to his constituents.
Yaro stated that his loyalty remains with the people, adding that he is prepared to continue fighting for better roads, improved schools, accessible healthcare, and empowerment opportunities for youths and women in the district.
He also expressed appreciation to his supporters for standing by him and urged residents of Gombe South to remain united ahead of the 2027 political season.
The senator reaffirmed his determination to seek re-election under the PDP, saying he is ready to continue representing and defending the interests of the people.
