The Iranian military on Tuesday warned the United States against launching further attacks on the country, saying Tehran would deploy new strategies and weapons if provoked again.
The warning was issued by Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, who said Iran could neither be isolated nor defeated despite growing regional tensions.
According to Iran’s state-backed Fars News Agency, the military spokesman declared that Tehran maintained strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes.
“Given the dominance of the armed forces over the Strait of Hormuz and the irreversibility of the situation in the strait to the past, the enemy’s only option is to respect the Iranian nation and observe Iran’s rights,” he said.
The latest warning came as Ebrahim Azizi insisted that the Strait of Hormuz would remain permanently under Iran’s control and management.
The development follows recent remarks by Donald Trump, who disclosed that he halted planned military strikes on Iran after appeals from Gulf states amid ongoing negotiations with Tehran.
Trump, however, warned that the United States was prepared for a large-scale military operation against Iran if diplomatic efforts failed.
The renewed exchange of threats has further heightened concerns over possible escalation in the Gulf region, amid fears that any disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could affect global oil supply and international trade.
