The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 previously withheld Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results following a fresh review of cases flagged for suspected examination malpractice.
The board confirmed the development through its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who disclosed the update via X on Thursday.
According to him, the released results are part of an ongoing review process that also led to the cancellation of some results where candidates were found culpable of malpractice, while others were cleared after no evidence of wrongdoing was established.
He explained that candidates whose results remain withheld are still under investigation, particularly those linked to centres where suspicious activities were detected or reported by monitoring teams.
JAMB further warned that where sufficient evidence of malpractice is established, such results would be cancelled permanently.
The board advised candidates who have not yet checked their results to do so by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
The 2026 UTME was conducted between April 16 and April 25 across accredited computer-based test centres nationwide.
