The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has called on its members to close ranks and strengthen party unity following the conclusion of its primary elections ahead of future political contests.
The appeal was made as the party congratulated Muslim faithful in Ondo State and across the country on the successful celebration of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festival.
In a statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary, Otunba Muyide Adeyeluwa, the party described the Islamic festival as a period that underscores the values of sacrifice, tolerance, peace and national unity.
According to the statement, the state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, said the occasion offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the importance of harmonious coexistence and collective efforts toward societal development.
Babatunde noted that the virtues associated with Eid-el-Kabir remain crucial not only for national growth but also for fostering cohesion and cooperation among party members.
He said, “The Eid celebration reminds us of the importance of unity, sacrifice, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. These values are critical to nation-building and the continued growth of our party.”
The party chairman also commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as efforts to promote religious inclusiveness, democratic governance and national unity through his administration’s policies and programmes.
He urged party faithful to regard the recently concluded primaries as part of the APC’s democratic tradition, stressing that members should put aside differences arising from the exercise and focus on strengthening the party.
Babatunde further encouraged stakeholders and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively to sustain the party’s electoral successes in future elections.
