Traditional rulers from Osun West Senatorial District have commended Bola Tinubu and Adegboyega Oyetola for approving the reconstruction of the 90.9-kilometre Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road.
The monarchs described the project as a major intervention that will improve transportation, stimulate economic activities, enhance security, and support the development of communities along the road corridor connecting Osun State and Oyo State.
In a letter addressed to President Tinubu and presented to Oyetola, the traditional rulers said the road had been in poor condition for years, causing hardship for commuters, traders, farmers, students, and transporters. They stated that the approval of the reconstruction demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to infrastructure development and regional integration.
Led by Oba Abdurasheed Adewale Akanbi, the monarchs noted that the project would reduce travel time, improve the movement of goods and services, strengthen commercial activities, and open up rural communities to greater economic opportunities.
The royal fathers also praised Oyetola for facilitating the project, recalling that he had promised to pursue the road’s reconstruction while representing President Tinubu at the coronation of Oba Adesuyi Clement Haastrup in 2025.
According to the monarchs, the road project will stand as one of the significant infrastructure achievements of the Tinubu administration in the South-West and will benefit both present and future generations. They concluded by praying for wisdom, strength, and good health for the President as he continues to lead the country.
