A tenacious physically challenged Kebbi lawyer, Lawal Hudu Garba, has captured the spotlight with a remarkable success story, stealing the show at the Conferment of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank event organized by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) on September 29, 2025.
Arewa Local Government Area-born Lawal Hudu Garba emerged as one of the 57 legal practitioners conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria this year. His well-deserved elevation symbolizes hope, audacity, and sheer determination, illustrating that nothing is impossible.
Despite facing a physical challenge due to Polio, Garba refused to succumb to fate. Originating from Kebbi State, he defied all odds and pursued a career in law, transforming himself from a victim of circumstance into a successful practitioner.
As a lawyer, Hudu ascended to the top ranks, serving as the Kebbi State Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association before achieving the esteemed position of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the Kebbi State Ministry of Justice. His relentless spirit and dedication propelled him to the pinnacle of his career.
Mr. Garba’s achievements, especially considering his circumstances and background, serve as a beacon of inspiration for many, particularly young lawyers. In her address at the conferment event, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirate Kekere-Ekun, highlighted Mr. Garba’s tenacity with the following words:
