President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new chief executives to head three federal agencies, in what the presidency described as a move to strengthen critical national institutions.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, noting that the appointments take immediate effect.
According to the release:
Bello Bawa Bwari (Niger State) has been appointed as Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency for an initial term of four years, effective September 18, 2025.
Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu (Zamfara State) will serve as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal for a five-year term, effective September 18, 2025.
Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan has been named Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, with a four-year tenure that commenced on September 2, 2025.
The presidency explained that the appointments are part of President Tinubu’s broader plan to reposition institutions for improved service delivery and national development.
“The President tasks the appointees to deploy their expertise in advancing the mandates of their respective agencies for the good of the country,” the statement added.
