Work has reportedly commenced on the Oke Aro/Idanre road just hours after a public statement was made by Prophet Oluwamodede, the General Overseer of the Prayer Center Church of God, Adofure. In a video broadcast shared on his social media account, Prophet Oluwamodede condemned the abandonment of the ongoing dualization project, prompting swift action from the Ondo State government.
The Legal Observer previously reported that the prominent cleric had threatened to take matters into his own hands, indicating he would facilitate the surface grading and dressing of the road if the government did not resume work within seventy-two hours.
As of the latest reports, construction efforts have begun on the road, with grading completed in some areas and ongoing work in others. This timely response comes just before the expiration of the ultimatum set by the prophet, highlighting the influence of community leaders in local development issues.
