The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally disclosed its reasons for wielding the big stick against Engr. Kayode Ojo, popularly known as EKO, by disqualifying him from participating in the forthcoming governorship primary over allegations of forgery, indiscipline, and reckless conduct.
You will recall that The Legal Observer once reported that Engineer Kayode Ojo had been booted out of the Ekiti Guber primary.

Party sources however confirmed that Ojo forged the names of his supposed nominators, a move that grossly violated the party’s electoral guidelines. He had falsely claimed to have valid nominators drawn from all the 16 local government areas of the state, but investigations alleged the submitted list to be false.
“If the party had cleared him, it would have been a permanent dent on our reputation. The offense is serious enough to attract prosecution, but the party chose to treat it internally,” a senior party official told our correspondent.
Learning from its past experiences in Zamfara and Bayelsa States, the APC leadership reportedly resolved never again to compromise its internal rules, stressing that discipline, integrity, and respect for party hierarchy remain non-negotiable.
Beyond the forgery scandal, Ojo’s persistent insults and sponsored smear campaigns against the party leadership further sealed his fate. He was accused of financing comedians to mock President Bola Tinubu over federal road projects in Ekiti and went as far as describing the Nigerian First Lady’s ₦50,000 women-empowerment initiative as an “almajiri scheme.”
His frequent verbal attacks on senior political figures in Ekiti were described by stakeholders as “a clear case of political suicide.”
“No responsible party will hand its ticket to someone who constantly ridicules its leaders and undermines its image. This decision is not about politics or political witch hunt; it’s about principle,” a party chieftain said.
“The decision to disqualify Ojo unequivocally demonstrates the APC’s renewed commitment to internal order, discipline, and adherence to due process. It sends a clear message that the party will no longer tolerate indiscipline disguised as ambition.”
