The former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an “angel sent by God” to fix Nigeria, affirming his unequivocal endorsement for Tinubu’s second-term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement took place during a massive rally held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kogi State.
Bello praised Tinubu’s leadership, emphasizing that the president’s commitment to stabilizing Nigeria’s economy and addressing security challenges has been commendable.
“Tinubu is a leader without boundaries, a humanist who has mentored this generation of democrats,” Bello said.
He also called on Nigerians to consolidate their support behind Tinubu, warning political opponents to “forget their ambitions” as the president’s position is strong and unshakeable.
He assured that Kogi State, which he described as an APC stronghold, had no opposition to Tinubu’s re-election. “Mr. President, you don’t need to campaign in Kogi. There is no opposition here,” Bello stated, urging the president to focus on continuing his transformative agenda without distraction.
The rally also saw the endorsement of Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term, highlighting the APC’s confidence in their leadership team to sustain developmental progress in the state and nation.
Therefore, APC leaders at the event, including Senator Smart Adeyemi and others, reinforced their collective support, underscoring Tinubu’s pivotal role as the founder of the APC and his remarkable contributions to Nigerian democracy and governance.
Governor Ododo, in his remarks, credited Tinubu for providing a governance template that his administration is replicating through infrastructural development, security enhancement, and job creation, making the campaign a platform for sustained progress rather than political contest.
The endorsement signals a unified front by the APC in Kogi as the party prepares for the 2027 elections, rallying behind a president whose leadership legacy is framed as divinely favored and nationally transformative.
