A magistrate court has ordered the remand of the younger brother and the lawyer of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, following their participation in a protest demanding his unconditional release.
The duo was arrested after joining a demonstration under the banner of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow campaign. The protest, which gathered supporters calling for justice and adherence to recent court judgments concerning the IPOB leader, led to charges related to public disturbance and unlawful assembly.
Following their arraignment, the court denied bail and ruled that they be held in a correctional facility pending further investigation and trial.
