The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed Dr. Bernard Doro as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs following a brief but decisive screening session. Doro’s appointment fills the vacancy left by his predecessor, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who was elected National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Born in Plateau State, Dr. Doro is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice and strategic leadership in both Nigeria and the UK. His academic credentials include degrees in Pharmacy, Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategies, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
With no objections, the Senate confirmed his nomination, and Dr. Doro is expected to be sworn in as a member of the Federal Executive Council in the coming days, marking a new chapter for Nigeria’s humanitarian efforts under his leadership
