‘Don’t Mess with a Superpower’ – Professor Mimiko Tells Tinubu

A prominent Political Science professor, Femi Mimiko, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to remain focused amidst distractions posed by conspiracy theories surrounding U.S. intervention in Nigeria. In a succinct social media statement, Mimiko emphasized the importance of a strategic response to the situation, particularly in light of recent comments by former President Donald Trump.

Mimiko cautioned against the influence of attention-seekers who suggest that Trump has ulterior motives to undermine Nigeria. He stressed that such theories, including allegations of an impending genocide against Christians, will not yield constructive outcomes.

“The type of response needed to the Trump moves is a most serious and well thought one,” he stated, recommending that it should be crafted by individuals well-versed in global diplomacy.

He concluded with a stark reminder: “You don’t mess around with a superpower, especially one currently run by an irascible fella, in a global system in which, technically, might alone is right!”

Mimiko’s call to action reflects the urgency for a well-coordinated diplomatic approach as Nigeria navigates its complex relationship with the United States.
