Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has publicly criticised the Federal Government over what he described as the complete absence of accountability in the wake of recent nationwide security incidents.
In a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Falz expressed deep frustration at the government’s handling of the situation, questioning why no arrests have been confirmed despite widespread reports of attacks and abductions across the country.
“You are telling me in allllll of this, not ONE single arrest has been made?!?!” he wrote in one post that quickly gained traction, drawing thousands of reactions.
Responding to a statement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who addressed Nigerians on the ongoing insecurity and noted that he had cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to coordinate the government’s response, Falz insisted that the official explanation was insufficient.
“THIS DOES NOT CUT IT. Where are the abductors?? Were they killed? How many arrests were made???” he demanded, pressing for transparency on operations reportedly carried out by security agencies.
Falz, who has long been known for using his platform to address social justice and governance issues, said Nigerians deserve clarity on the actions taken to combat the surge in violent crimes. His posts sparked widespread conversations online, with many users echoing similar concerns over the government’s silence on arrests or identified suspects.
As public pressure intensifies, Nigerians await further updates from security agencies on the status of investigations, rescue operations, and efforts to apprehend those responsible for the recent attacks.
