The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Michael Ango.
The announcement was made on Friday through a statement released by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
With Ango’s exit, the most senior officer within the agency has been instructed to immediately assume leadership of the FCT-IRS in an acting capacity.
As of the time the statement was issued, officials did not give any reason for the decision.
Ango was appointed on August 9, 2024, following approval by President Bola Tinubu. During his tenure, the revenue service reportedly collected ₦262 billion in 2024, surpassing both its ₦250 billion target and the ₦211.1 billion generated the previous year.
