The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after collapsing at the Government House in Yenagoa.
The incident occurred in the afternoon, prompting an immediate emergency response. While the exact cause of the collapse has not been determined, sources described the situation as serious.
Ewhrudjakpo was reportedly taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, for urgent medical attention. However, this could not be independently confirmed, as the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Ben Akpedi, did not respond to calls.
When contacted, the Deputy Governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi, confirmed the development but declined to provide further details, ending the call shortly after confirming the incident.
