Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of deliberately placing their children in the public eye during an ongoing custody dispute.
In a video shared on Instagram, one of her sons is heard saying, “Mummy, come back.” Accompanying the clip with a detailed caption, Daniels spoke about the emotional strain of being separated from her children and criticised their father for repeatedly posting them online at what she described as a sensitive time.
She said that while some may assume she is coping well, no mother can be at peace when separated from her children. Daniels added that she chose not to let the pain “define or imprison” her, explaining that this was why she delayed speaking publicly about the situation.
The actress alleged that Nwoko’s online posts were a “deliberate pursuit of negative attention,” arguing that, as a serving senator, he should have anticipated the intense media scrutiny such actions would attract. She said she initially remained silent to avoid fuelling media attention but felt compelled to speak after what she described as continued provocation.
Daniels further claimed that she has been denied communication with her children and alleged that her nannies were dismissed and pressured into making false accusations of violence and alcohol abuse against her, claims she strongly denied. She said these allegations were allegedly made in the presence of the children.
According to Daniels, Nwoko has filed for full custody despite already having the children in his care. She questioned the move, asking why she was being challenged so aggressively.
“I may be young, but I am such a mum. I enjoy being a mum and I miss being a mum,” she wrote, expressing her distress over the separation. Despite the legal dispute, she said she remains hopeful and confident that she will see her children again.
As of the time of this report, neither Ned Nwoko nor his representatives have responded to the allegations.
