MTN Nigeria has confirmed a network outage affecting some parts of Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi states, warning customers that services may be temporarily disrupted.
The telecommunications company disclosed this in a notice titled “Network Outage Alert!” shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday. According to MTN, it is currently experiencing network challenges in the affected areas, which may result in limited access to calls, messages and internet services.
MTN said its engineers are already working to restore normal services as quickly as possible and appealed to customers for patience and understanding while the issue is being resolved.
The development comes months after a similar outage in October that affected parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), leaving many subscribers unable to make calls or access data services. MTN had also reported and later resolved network disruptions in Kaduna, Taraba and Plateau states.
Nigeria’s largest mobile network operator, with over 80 million subscribers, did not provide a specific timeline for full restoration of services in the affected South-East states as of the time of this report.
