Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, visited Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday in Freetown. The meeting comes ahead of Davido’s rescheduled beach concert tied to the ongoing AFCON 2025 festivities.
The visit is part of his 5ive Alive World Tour, with the singer describing Sierra Leone as his “second home” and hinting at plans for a stadium concert in the country. Davido also recalled his 2017 performance in Sierra Leone, which drew over 50,000 fans.
President Bio warmly welcomed Davido, expressing excitement about the concert and the attention it is generating. Photos from the meeting have sparked widespread reactions online, highlighting Davido’s growing international profile following similar engagements with Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu and France’s President Emmanuel Macron.
