Soludo’s Son Clears Hospital Bills of Patients in Anambra

Chinua Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has paid the hospital bills of several patients across the state as part of activities marking the Christmas celebration.

The gesture was carried out on Thursday during unscheduled visits to hospitals in three local government areas—Anaocha, Idemili South and Aguata—where he also provided transportation support to some beneficiaries to enable them return home for the festive season.

The outreach began at St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area, before moving to Nnobi General Hospital in Idemili South and Ekwulobia General Hospital in Aguata Local Government Area.

During the visits, Soludo urged Nigerians to show love, compassion and concern for the less-privileged, especially those receiving medical care, stressing that such acts give them a sense of belonging and hope.

According to him, Christmas is a season for spreading love and happiness, particularly to the needy, the sick and the abandoned.

“Christmas is a time to reach out to the less-privileged, the sick and those who feel neglected. Showing them love assures them that society has not forgotten them and that their future is bright,” he said.

At St. Joseph Hospital, Soludo cleared the outstanding bills of more than five patients and also provided transport fares for them to reunite with their families. In one case, he paid a hospital bill of ₦933,500 for a patient who had been detained after discharge due to inability to pay.

At Nnobi General Hospital, he settled a bill of over ₦120,000 for a patient treated for acute malaria, while at Ekwulobia General Hospital, nearly 10 women benefited from similar assistance, including transport support.

The outreach reportedly moved several beneficiaries to tears and created lasting impressions of compassion and goodwill.

Last year, Chinua Soludo had carried out a similar Christmas outreach at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he cleared the medical bills of dozens of patients.
