A former Chairman of Ondo Timber Trades Organisation (TTO), Otunba Prince Ayo Akinnadeju has emerged the new Aladeokun of Alade Idanre Kingdom, thereby succeeding Oba Olusegun Ayodele Akinbola.
The Obaship stool of the Alade Kingdom has been mired in judicial limbo for years, leading to a leadership vacuum since October 20, 2020, when the town’s king, Oba Olusegun Ayodele, joined his ancestors.
The late Oba Akinbola was one of the pioneering producers of the popular sitcom, Village Headmaster, created in 1968 by the late Ambassador Segun Olusola.
You may recall that Otunba Benson Akingbaso, an estate developer and business tycoon, was initially declared the Aladeokun of Alade-Idanre in the Idanre council area of Ondo State. He was said to have been elected by 12 Kingmakers in a declaration by the head of the Kingmakers, High Chief Donald Akinsowon.
But this declaration was later challenged by litigations, only to be later overridden by the recent pronouncement of Akinnadeju as the new Aladeokun of Alade.
This is according to the announcement by the Secretary to the Idanre Local Government.
