Nigerian gospel music icon Tope Alabi has announced the birth of her grandchild, expressing immense joy and pride in her daughter, Ayomikun Alabi. The singer described the moment as a dream come true.
On Instagram on Friday, Alabi shared that her first child has welcomed a baby, following the reveal of Ayomikun’s baby bump in a recent music video with colleague BBO.
“I’m eternally grateful to God for this joyful addition to my family. Indeed Ayomikun, ayo si kun inu mi,” Alabi wrote.
She praised her daughter for her growth as a woman and mother, saying, “My beautiful, strong girl @the_ayomikualabi_, I am so proud of the woman and mother you have become. Welcome to the world, my darling grandchild. I have dreamt of holding you for so long, and now I’m showering you with kisses as I watch you grow.”
Alabi also described her new role as a grandmother as her favourite, adding, “Being your grandma is my new favourite role. Big congratulations to the Bantales.”
The announcement comes after Ayomikun’s private wedding to Oluwole Bantale in 2025. Although intended to be intimate, photos and videos from the celebration have surfaced online, capturing the joyous moments attended by notable guests, including Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.
