A large crowd of supporters on Friday turned out to welcome former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as he arrived in Kaduna following an incident at the airport a day earlier.
In a video obtained, enthusiastic supporters were seen lining major streets and escorting the former governor’s motorcade as he proceeded toward a Jummat mosque in the city.
The footage captured residents cheering and waving at El Rufai, with many struggling to catch a glimpse of the former governor during the procession.
The crowd’s presence caused heavy movement around parts of the metropolis, as supporters gathered in large numbers to receive him.
Observers described the turnout as unusually massive, suggesting that the former governor still commands significant political support within the state.
The development comes shortly after reports emerged of an ordeal involving El Rufai at the airport on Thursday, although details of the incident remain unclear.
Supporters who accompanied the motorcade expressed excitement over his return, chanting and celebrating along the route.
