Supporters and opponents of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, gathered on Monday at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja, as he arrived to comply with the commission’s invitation.
The demonstrators were split, with some showing solidarity with El-Rufai, while others urged the EFCC to investigate him thoroughly.
Observers described the atmosphere around the Jabi office as tense, although no major incidents were reported.
Sources noted a brief disruption when security operatives stopped certain members of El-Rufai’s team from entering the premises.
The former governor, who had previously avoided arrest at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday, eventually proceeded into the EFCC building.
Outside, protesters continued to voice their opinions, reflecting the deep public interest and contrasting views surrounding the case.
