Another member of the administration of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has resigned from office, increasing the number of recent exits within the government to three.
Yinka Richards, who served as Special Assistant on Special Duties, formally announced his resignation in a letter dated February 16, 2026, stating that his disengagement would take effect from February 18.
In the correspondence addressed to the governor, Richards appreciated the opportunity to serve in the administration, noting that his role enabled him to contribute to governance and developmental programmes in the state.
He explained that his decision followed personal reflection and was influenced by plans to take up a national assignment while pursuing the next phase of his political and professional journey.
His resignation comes days after two media aides in the administration stepped down from their respective positions within a short period.
Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila had earlier resigned as Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, while Olugbenga Abire also vacated his position as Special Assistant on Media.
Though no official explanation accompanied the earlier resignations, insiders suggested that issues relating to operational challenges and funding constraints were subjects of concern within the media unit.
The Ondo State Government has yet to issue a formal statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the recent resignations.
