MINISTER of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has declared that while the All Progressives Congress (APC) is no congregation of saints, it remains a far superior alternative to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Keyamo made this known on Saturday through his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared an unedited video clip of an interview he granted to a blog in 2017, alleging that his remarks had been deliberately taken out of context by unnamed individuals.
“This is the unedited part of the interview I granted a blog in 2017 nine years ago emphasising that APC may not be a party of saints, which, I repeat, is a matter of fact, but it is still far better than where we were coming from. Some characters edited the last part of my statement out of it,” the minister wrote.
Keyamo did not mince words in reiterating his position, insisting that any politician who presents his party as flawless was either naive or dishonest.
“I will be a fool to say APC is a party of saints. And anyone who declares any party to which he or she belongs as a party of saints will also be a fool,” he stated.
The minister drew a sharp contrast between the APC administration and the PDP’s years in power, arguing that the ruling party offered Nigerians the most credible path forward.
“But, on the balance, the APC still holds the best hope for the country and we cannot return to the era of PDP,” Keyamo warned.
He also praised President Tinubu, noting that unlike many others, he never aligned with the PDP during its years of dominance.
“It was only Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that never hopped onto that battered train of PDP at that time,” he added.
