Suspected bandits have maimed a farmer, Abdulkarim, cutting off one of his hands during an attack in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Friday evening, was disclosed on Monday by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X. He stated that the victim was working on his dry-season farm when the armed men struck.
According to the account, the attackers descended on the farmland and brutally assaulted the farmer, leaving him with life-altering injuries.
Sources cited in the report alleged that the violence erupted after the victim confronted the assailants.
The attack has once again highlighted the growing insecurity confronting rural dwellers, particularly farmers who risk their lives to cultivate their fields.
Efforts to get an official response from the Kaduna State authorities proved unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
