Oyo Police hunt man for allegedly killing girlfriend

The Oyo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for 29-year-old Quadri Mohammed, who is suspected of murdering his 26-year-old girlfriend, Precious Mogaji, in Ibadan.

Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade said investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

The incident was reported around 12:05 a.m. by a resident who discovered the victim lying lifeless at the entrance of her boyfriend’s apartment.

Officers from the Ojoo Division, including the patrol team and incident duty officer, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

On arrival, the police found the victim’s body at the doorway of the suspect’s room.

Ayanlade clarified that the incident took place in the Oguntula area of Ojoo, not Akobo as earlier reported in some media outlets, and dismissed claims involving a husband attempting to move his wife’s body in a vehicle.

The scene was documented, and a preliminary examination was carried out before the body was taken to a hospital morgue for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.

Investigators revealed that the suspect had fled and his current location remains unknown.

The police are actively working to apprehend him and have urged anyone with information to report to the nearest police station or contact the Oyo State Police Command.
