A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Mr Dele Momodu, has said President Bola Tinubu could soon begin to feel mounting political pressure as developments unfold within the country’s political landscape.
Momodu made the remark on Sunday during an appearance on Sunday Politics aired on Channels Television.
Speaking during the programme, the media entrepreneur suggested that the President might soon realise the real intentions of some individuals within his political camp.
He pointed to the political move of former Osun State governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who he said had joined the ADC despite his long-standing association with Tinubu.
Momodu recalled that Aregbesola served two terms as governor of Osun State and had earlier worked closely with Tinubu as Commissioner for Works in Lagos State.
He said, “Nobody knows Tinubu better than Aregbesola. He governed Osun State for eight years and was commissioner for works in Lagos, yet today he is with the ADC.”
Momodu also noted what he described as a growing number of lawmakers and political figures aligning with the party.
According to him, many politicians remain loyal while expecting political rewards but may begin to explore other options if such expectations are not fulfilled, adding that this could soon become evident in the country’s political space.
