Peoples Democratic Party Faction Slams Felix Morka Over Claim PDP Is ‘No Longer a Political Party

The National Working Committee (NWC) of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has criticised comments made by Felix Morka, describing them as “delusional propaganda.”

Morka, who represents the All Progressives Congress (APC), had earlier stated during an appearance on the The Morning Show that the PDP could no longer be regarded as a functioning political party due to its internal crisis and the recent wave of defections from its ranks.

According to Morka, the opposition party’s internal dysfunction has made it incapable of providing a credible political platform for its members. He also argued that the growing number of politicians joining the APC should be viewed as public endorsement of the ruling party rather than evidence that Nigeria is drifting toward a one-party state.

However, in a statement issued by Ini Ememobong, the Turaki-led faction dismissed Morka’s remarks as misleading and politically motivated. Ememobong alleged that many of the recent defections were achieved through inducement and pressure from the ruling party.

He further argued that despite the defections, Nigerians have continued to express dissatisfaction with the APC government, accusing the ruling party of worsening the country’s economic and political conditions.

Ememobong also accused Morka of spreading propaganda, comparing his rhetoric to that of Joseph Goebbels, who served under Adolf Hitler. He warned that such propaganda could damage democratic institutions if left unchecked.

The PDP faction maintained that the party remains a viable political force and vowed to continue presenting itself as an alternative platform ahead of future elections.
